Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team is set to open its home schedule with a three-game series against IU Indianapolis starting tomorrow. The series has been adjusted due to expected weather with a doubleheader scheduled for tomorrow starting at 1:00 p.m. and a single game on Saturday scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to Viking Field as the team will unveil a special championship banner commemorating the 2024 Horizon League Tournament Championship.
 
Cleveland State is 3-0 in Horizon League play after a series sweep of Youngstown State to open the league schedule last weekend. The Vikings are tied at the top of the league standings with Northern Kentucky as the only two teams to register sweeps on opening weekend.
 
Melissa Holzopfel is looking to add to her impressive stat line after picking up Horizon League Pitcher of the Week honors earlier this week. Holzopfel finished 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA in the series against Youngstown State.
 
IU Indy is 2-1 in league play after taking two of three from Purdue Fort Wayne in its first conference series. The Jaguars were picked seventh in the league preseason poll.
