Daytona Beach, FL-The Cleveland State men's basketball team will continue its season as the Vikings will compete in the 2025 Purple College Basketball Invitational. The tournament begins with first round games on March 22 and 23 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
 
This is the fifth consecutive postseason appearance for the program and the third straight season the Vikings will play in the CBI. Cleveland State fell in overtime in the first round in 2023 and advanced to the second round in last year's event.
 
The Vikings finished with a 21-12 overall record in the 2024-25 campaign, the fourth consecutive season the program has won 20 or more games. The regular season concluded with a second-place finish in the Horizon League standings at 14-6 overall and a fifth consecutive trip to the semifinal round of the conference tournament. Cleveland State had six student-athletes named to the league's all-conference teams, the most of any school.
 
The tournament field features 16 teams with teams seeded 1-16 matching up in the first round. The first two rounds of the tournament will be broadcast on FloHoops with the semifinal and final rounds set to air on the ESPN family of networks.
