The Vikings jumped out to a big lead with a strong first half on both ends of the floor. Cleveland State led by 21 points at the break. Cleveland State closed the half with a surge that put the momentum squarely on the side of the Vikings headed into the locker room. The Vikings finished the half on a 7-0 run to open up their largest lead of the game headed into the break. The Panthers attempted to chip away as the half wore on but could not draw closer than seven points the rest of the way. Cleveland State pushed the lead back to double digits with a late surge and finished the game with a 17-point margin of victory.
