ASHLAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team opened up the Jud Logan Light Giver Friday, paced by a trio of top-10 finishes.
 
"We had a great start to this weekend's meet today, really kick starting our first two-day meet of the season. Madison was the highlight in the Pentathlon as she posted a program record, while Zuriah had a good showing in her first Pentathlon. We are starting to fine tune some things as we make our march to the conference meet," head coach Jason Hudson said.
 
Madison Luthy finished seventh overall in the Pentathlon with 3,361 points, including a pair of third place finishes in the 60 Hurdles (9.09) and 800 Meter Run (2:25.07). Zuriah Radeff-Koonce placed 12^th in the same event with 3,059 points, paced by a first place finish in the Shot Put (12.70).
 
Cleveland State's top running finish came from Ana Crangle in the 5000 Meter Run, as she finished sixth overall with a time of 18:08.71. Natalie Keller also notched a top-10 finish in the event, placing seventh with a time of 18:16.91.
 
Grace Frye had the Vikings' top field event finish, placing 11^th overall with a mark of 15.57 in the Weight Throw.
 
The Vikings will close out action at the Jud Logan Light Giver tomorrow, with running events starting at 9:20 a.m. and field events set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
