Cleveland, OH-Je'Shawn Stevenson has been named the Horizon League Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league office announced today.
Stevenson had a strong week in helping the Vikings to a 1-1 week to remain in first place in the league standings with six regular season games remaining.
Stevenson had 11 points in Wednesday's game at Northern Kentucky to go along with four rebounds and two assists. He finished 3-of-7 from the field and scored in double figures for the 11
th time this season.
He followed that up with eight points in Saturday's victory over Milwaukee. For the week, Stevenson finished at 70 percent from the free throw line finishing 7-for-10 from the charity stripe.
The award is the eighth weekly award earned by a Cleveland State student-athlete this season. Stevenson and the Vikings will be at home this week for a pair of games starting with Robert Morris on Wednesday night and finishing with Youngstown State on Sunday, a game that will be nationally televised.
