CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team remained perfect on the 2025-26 season Wednesday, picking up a 97-24 victory over Pittsburgh at Johnstown to improve to 3-0 on the year.

The Game
Cleveland State opened the contest with a 6-0 run and never looked back, claiming the convincing 97-24 victory on Wednesday.
After getting out to a quick lead, the Vikings were able to extend their lead to double digits following back-to-back layups from
Paula Pique and
Laurel Rockwood putting the score at 16-5 late in the opening frame. The Vikings then closed out the quarter with a 6-2 run, taking a 22-7 lead into the second frame.
Cleveland State carried its momentum into the second frame then, as six straight points gave the Vikings a 28-7 advantage on a pair of
Izabella Zingaro baskets. Although UPJ was able to stop this initial scoring run, the Vikings responded with a 17-0 run to close out the half, taking a 45-8 lead into the halftime break.
The Vikings then held the Mountain Cats to just 16 points during the second half, pulling away with the 97-24 victory.
