Box Score ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team dropped its first Horizon League contest of the season Friday, falling at Oakland, 71-68. With the loss, the Vikings are now 12-3 overall this season and 4-1 in #HLWBB play.

The Game
After taking a slim 31-30 edge into the halftime break, the two teams traded baskets to start the third quarter, while back-to-back baskets from
Jordana Reisma and
Mickayla Perdue put the Vikings up 37-33 just three minutes into the frame. The two teams then once again traded baskets over the next few possessions, until a Reisma layup and
Grace Ellis three-pointer extended the Vikings' lead to 46-39 midway through the quarter.
Oakland was able to close the gap to just one point over the next few minutes then, while a Perdue three-pointer at the 3:14 mark regained a 48-43 lead for the Vikings. After trading baskets once again to close out the frame, Cleveland State held a 55-54 edge heading into the final 10 minutes of action.
The Grizzlies were able to swing the momentum into their favor over the opening possessions of the fourth quarter, before a
Destiny Leo three-pointer put the Vikings back on top at 60-59. Cleveland State then held the advantage over the next few minutes – including a
Macey Fegan layup that put the Vikings up 66-63 at the 3:48 mark – before Oakland responded with a 6-1 run of their own to regain a 69-67 lead with just 2:33 left on the clock.
The Grizzlies would go on to hold this lead throughout the remainder of the contest, coming away with the 71-68 victory.
