Viking Sports Weekly {January 27}

Men's Basketball
-Cleveland State will travel to Purdue Fort Wayne for its lone contest of the week, facing the Mastodons on Thursday, January 30 in a nationally televised game.
-Last time out, the Vikings picked up a pair of wins over Detroit Mercy and Green Bay, improving to 10-1 in #HLMBB play.
-Entering the week, Cleveland State owns the second longest active win streak in Division I, having won 12 straight contests.

Women's Basketball
-The Vikings will hit the road to continue Horizon League play this week, traveling to Green Bay (Thursday, January 30) and Milwaukee (Saturday, February 1).
-Last time out, Cleveland State improved to 8-2 in #HLWBB play with a win over YSU, while also picking up a win over Ohio Christian in non-league play.
-Entering the week, the Vikings currently sit third in the league standings behind Purdue Fort Wayne and Green Bay.

Wrestling
-Cleveland State will split its time at home and on the road this week, hosting Northern Illinois on Friday, January 31 before taking part in the Edinboro Open on Saturday, February 1.
-The Vikings are coming off a MAC doubleheader sweep, where they picked up a 40-0 shutout against Bloomsburg and a 24-10 victory over Clarion.
-Tate Geiser, JR Reed, Joey Lyons, Daniel Bucknavich, and Reese Stephen all went 2-0 on the day.

Fencing
-Cleveland State will have their final tune-up before the CCFC Championships this week, taking part in the Northwestern Duals on Sunday, February 2.
-Last time out, the men finished 3-3 at the Decicco Duals, while the women went 3-4.

Swim & Dive
-Cleveland State wrapped up the regular season at Oakland last time out, and will be off from competition until the #HLSD Championships from February 19-22.
-The men swept the diving events against Oakland with James Wolf in 1 Meter and Xander Austin in 3 Meter.
-Giovanna Cappabianca won all three of her races in the pool; 100 breast, 200 breast and 400 IM.

Track & Field
-Cleveland State will be back in action at the Wittenberg Steemer Invite on Saturday, February 1.
-Last time out, Grace Frye picked up two wins at the Spire Midwest Invite, placing first in the Weight Throw and Shot Put.
-In addition, the Vikings recorded eight other top-10 finishes on the day.

Women's Tennis
-The Vikings will hit the road for one match this week, traveling to Toledo on Friday, January 31.
-Last time out, Cleveland State picked up a 4-3 victory over Miami (OH), improving to 2-2 on the year.
-This spring, Oihane Vicario and Sima Heren have a team-best three singles wins after picking up victories last time out.

Men's Tennis
-The Vikings will take the week off from competition, returning to the courts on Friday, February 7 when they host Dayton in their home opener.
-So far this spring, Carl Gedlitschka has paced the Vikings with a pair of singles wins, including at Notre Dame last time out.

Won a pair of events at the Spire Midwest Invite, placing first in the Weight Throw (16.95) and Shot Put (12.68).
