INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the second straight year the Cleveland State women's tennis team has been tabbed as the preseason favorite in the Horizon League, as announced in today's #HLTennis Preseason Poll.
This marks the sixth time that Cleveland State has been selected to finish in the top-two in Horizon League play.
Cleveland State returns five letterwinners from last season's team that claimed the #HLTennis Regular Season title and advanced to the championship match of the Horizon League Tournament. Included in this group is two-time Player of the Year
Oihane Vicario and All-League honorees
Sima Heren and
Tereze Vevere.
The Vikings are under the direction of seventh-year head coach
Frank Polito, who guided CSU to a 14-win season last year, and helped the Vikings to their sixth #HLTennis championship appearance.
Cleveland State will open the 2025 spring campaign next weekend, when the Vikings host Marshall on Friday, January 17 and Dayton on Saturday, January 18.
