NORTON, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team opened the 2024 campaign Friday evening, competing at the Tommy Evans Invitational hosted by Akron.
Ana Crangle paced the Vikings with a 19:10 5K time, finishing 38
th overall in a highly competitive 10-team field.
Natalie Keller also notched a sub-20 5K time on Friday, crossing the line in 19:24 to finish 48
th overall.
The trio of
Ariana Coats (20:15),
Deena Ingrassia (20:21) and
Brooke Bechtel (20:23) all posted top-75 finishes for the Vikings, while
Sage Colòn (21:07) and
Sophia Pomnean (21:26) were right behind this group.
Next to cross the finish line for the Vikings were
Aubrey Evans (21:50),
Madeline Crissman (22:14) and
Madelynn Madison (23:01), while
Tara Will (23:01) and
Alana Nowak (24:09) rounded out the Cleveland State competitors.
Ingrassia, Evans and Nowak were all making their collegiate cross country debuts, while Will competed for the first time of her CSU career.
Cleveland State will be back in action at the All-Ohio Classic in the middle of September.
