CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State cross country team will begin the 2024 campaign this weekend, taking part in the Tommy Evans Invitational on Friday, August 30. Friday's 5K race will take place at the Silver Creek Cross Country Trails in Norton, Ohio.
The Race
Friday's 5K race is slated to start at 6:15 p.m., and is being hosted by the University of Akron.
The Course
This will mark the first of two times that the Vikings will run at the Silver Creek Cross Country Trails this season, as the 2024 NCAA Regionals will also be hosted at this venue in November.
2024 Roster
The Vikings return nine runners that were featured on the roster last year, including the sophomore duo of
Natalie Keller and
Brooke Bechtel who finished in Cleveland State's top-four five times last season. This returning group will be joined by three newcomers for the upcoming 2024 campaign.
2024 Schedule
Friday's race will be the first of six scheduled meets for the Vikings this season. Cleveland State will participate in four regular season races, before taking part in the Horizon League Championships to begin November along with the NCAA Regionals.
