CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings (0-3-0) suffered a 3-0 loss to Saint Joseph's (3-0-0) in the home opener on Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks opened the scoring in the 18th minute as Emily Hanrahan slotted the ball to the far post for the 1-0 lead. Saint Joseph's doubled the margin in the 39th minute off a through ball to lead 2-0 at halftime.
Madi Snyder nearly got the Green and White on the board in the 47th minute, but a defender stopped her header on the line. Saint Joseph's tacked on a third goal in the 81st minute to take the game by a score of 3-0.
Cleveland State tallied nine shots with five on goal. All nine shots were by different Vikings.
Madison Ott made five saves in goal.
The Vikings hit the road for the next two games starting with Niagara on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.
