DAYTON, Ohio – The Vikings (0-2-0) dropped a 4-0 match at Dayton (2-0-0) in the first-ever meeting on Wednesday evening.
The Flyers claimed the 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute after Liv Grenda finished off a through ball from Noel Blain. Four minutes later, Grenda netted her second of the game with a shot to the upper right corner.
Dayton bumped the margin to three goals in the 28th minute as Laney Smith found the near post from the middle of the box. The scoreline remained 3-0 in favor of the home team at the half.
The scoreline moved to 4-0 in the 80th minute as Roisin McGovern touched in a cross from Bre Mendoza.
Mayra Sesmas had two of the six shots for the Green and White.
Madison Ott accumulated eight saves in goal.
Cleveland State will take to Krenzler Field for the first time this season on Sunday at 1 p.m. versus Saint Joseph's.
