ASHLAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State track & field team competed in its final tune-up before the 2024 Horizon League Outdoor Championships this weekend, taking part in the Ashland Alumni Open.

Cleveland State recorded a pair of event wins on the day, with Madelynn Madison winning the 1500 Meter Run in a time of 4:47.42 and Grace Frye placing first in the Discus with a mark of 43.22.

Madeline Crissman placed second in the 5000 Meter Run with a time of 21:12.88, while Natalie Keller placed ninth in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 5:03.17 to round out the top-10 track finishes for the Vikings.

In field events, the Vikings had three additional top-10 finishes, paced by Landry Driskel with a seventh place showing in the Discus (41.14) and a 10th place showing in the Shot Put (12.31). Frye also added another top-10 finish in the Select Shot Put, posting a mark of 13.32.

The Vikings will be back in action next weekend at the Horizon League Championships, with action taking place Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5 at Oakland.
