SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The Cleveland State women's basketball team opened play at the Puerto Rico Clasico Thursday, picking up a 56-39 victory over Morgan State. With the win, the Vikings improve to 10-2 overall this season.

The Game
Following an even first half in which both teams were knotted at 20-20 heading into the halftime break, the Vikings used a 12-0 run midway through the third quarter to gain a double-digit lead at 35-25 on a
Jordana Reisma layup, before extending this scoring run to 17-0 gaining a 42-25 lead late in the frame.
Cleveland State then took a 42-27 lead into the fourth quarter, while a
Destiny Leo three-pointer put the Vikings up by 45-29 at the 6:36 mark. The Vikings followed this up with another 7-0 scoring run, extending their advantage to 23 points following a Reisma and-one to put the score at 52-29 late in the frame.
The Vikings were able to match the 23-point lead a few possessions later with a
Kali Howard jumper, before a
Brenae Jones-Grant layup in the final seconds eventually gave the Vikings the 56-39 victory.
