Cleveland, OH-Head softball coach Amy Kyler announced today the schedule for the 2025 softball season. Cleveland State will play in four non-conference tournaments throughout February and early March before the Horizon League schedule kicks off on March 14. The Vikings will look to defend their 2024 Horizon League Tournament Title to close the season in the second week of May.
 
Cleveland State kicks off the season in Leesburg, Florida at The Spring Games, an annual tournament featuring top competition from throughout the country. Cleveland State will play five games against Rutgers, Radford, Liberty, Middle Tennessee and Louisville starting on February 7.
 
Cleveland State returns to the State of Florida the next week for the JU/UNF Invitational hosted by Jacksonville University. The Vikings will play five more games starting on February 14. The non-conference schedule concludes with trips to Presbyterian College and Murray State.
 
The 24-game Horizon League schedule begins on March 14 with a three-game series at Youngstown State. Cleveland State's home opener will be March 21 as the Vikings welcome IU Indy for three games. Cleveland State will play 12 home games at Viking Field this season. Admission to all home games is free of charge for all fans.
 
The season concludes with the Horizon League Tournament scheduled to begin on May 7 at the highest available tournament seed. The Vikings finished third in the regular season standings with a 14-10 conference record. Cleveland State took home the tournament title and went on to an NCAA Tournament appearance, the third appearance in program history. A strong core of players return from last year's squad, led by Melissa Holzopfel, Brooke Albaugh and Emma Gilkerson, who each earned postseason all-league honors in 2024.
