MORGANTOWN, W. VA. - The Cleveland State track & field team participated in its final tune-up before the 2023 Horizon League Outdoor Championships Saturday, posting a strong showing at the Mountaineer Invite.
Dynesty Ervin paced the Vikings with a first-place finish in the 400 Meter Dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 57.39 - the fastest time in recent program history.
In addition,
Madison Morris and
Karly Klaer recorded a trio of fourth-place finishes, Morris in the 400 Meter Dash (59.67) and Klaer in the Shot Put (12.29) and Discus (48.23).
Ana Crangle and
Jillian McArdle rounded out Cleveland State's six top-five finishes on the day, Crangle in the 1500 Meter Run (4:53.84) and McArdle in the 400 Meter Hurdles (1:09.45).
The Vikings recorded an additional eight top-10 finishes on the day, capping off one of their most successful meets of the outdoor campaign.
Cleveland State will return to action next week at the 2023 #HLTF Outdoor Championships, with action beginning on Friday, May 5.
