Coats & Korte Named To #HLTF Outdoor All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2023 Valeo Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team Tuesday, with the Cleveland State duo of Ariana Coats and Hannah Korte both being recognized. Korte earns her fifth #HLTF All-Academic honor, while Coats picks up her second accolade.

Korte, who has been a member of the CSU Honors College throughout her career, graduated Summa Cum Laude earlier this month with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Korte finished her undergraduate coursework with a 3.98 GPA, and has now combined for seven cross country and track & field All-Academic honors.

Throughout the outdoor season, Korte notched four top-15 finishes, including a fourth-place showing in the 5,000 Meter Run at the Bob Kahn Invitational. To close out the outdoor campaign, Korte posted a personal-best in the 10,000 Meter Run at the #HLTF Outdoor Championships.

Coats, who currently owns a perfect 4.00 GPA studying chemistry as part of the CSU Honors College, earns her second All-Academic Team honor of the 2022-23 campaign.

On the track, Coats posted five top-15 finishes this season, and notched personal-best times in the 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 Meter Runs. At the #HLTF Outdoor Championships, Coats paced the Vikings with a 15th place finish in the 10,000 Meter Run.
