BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team wrapped up action at the Sparky Adams Invitational Saturday, posting two event wins and three additional top-five finishes.
"Things are starting to come together at the right time as we get closer to the conference meet," said head coach Jason Hudson. "We finished with eight PR's today, and I'm excited to see how this group will grow and do over the next two weeks!"
Cleveland State's event wins came from Ana Crangle in the Steeplechase and Madelynn Madison in the 1500 Meter Run. Crangle posted a time of 11:36.41 in the Steeplechase, while Madison crossed the finish line with a time of 4:54.90 in the 1500.
Dynesty Ervin led the Vikings in sprint events, placing third in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 26.16. In addition, Jillian McArdle advanced to the finals of the 100 Meter Hurdles, finishing fifth with a time of 16.36.
Leah Hoover earned a spot in the 100 Meter Dash finals, finishing seventh overall with a time of 13.31.
The Vikings also recorded a pair of top-five finishes in the relay events, placing second in the 4x100 Meter Relay and fourth in the 4x400 Meter Relay.
The quartet of Jadah Payne, McArdle, Hoover, and Ervin posted a time of 50.68 in the 4x100, while Ervin, Madison Morris, Hoover, and McArdle finished the 4x400 in a time of 4:15.04.
Cleveland State will have one final tune-up before the 2023 #HLTF Outdoor Championships, taking part in the Mountaineer Invite next Saturday, April 29.
