ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Vikings (3-7-4) wrapped up non-league play on Wednesday evening with a 3-2 setback against Michigan (2-5-7). Cleveland State will turn their attention to making the postseason tournament with two Horizon League contests left.

Michigan struck first in the 25th minute as Bode Saul headed in a cross from Riley Ferch to lead 1-0. Five minutes later, the Vikings drew even as Josh Davis headed in a corner off a pair of assists from brothers Albert Portas and Carlos Portas.

The game entered halftime all even at one with the Green and White holding a 7-6 advantage in shots.

Cleveland State claimed a 2-1 advantage in the 66th minute after Marko Rimac scored from near midfield as the Wolverines goalkeeper was caught far out of his box. The Vikings nearly extended the margin in the 81st minute as C. Portas shot went off the crossbar and cleared out of danger.

Two minutes later, Cleveland State was called for a handball in the box, setting up a penalty kick. Bryce Blevins stepped up to the spot and converted to tie the game at two-apiece.

The Wolverines reclaimed a 3-2 advantage in the 85th minute after Alex Eaggoner had his initial header saved but his follow-up shot found the back of the net.

Each team finished with 12 shots, but the home team held an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. M. Rimac led the Vikings with four shots on the night. A. Portas was close behind with three. Omeed Naeemy made five saves in goal.

The Green and White return home on Saturday for Senior Night against Wright State at 7 p.m. The Vikings will be honoring its nine seniors prior to kickoff.
