Smith Wins 400 Open Race At Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Cleveland State track & field team continued action at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational Friday, paced by Margaret Smith who won the 400 Meter Open race.

Smith, who crossed the finish line in a time of 1:00.68, picked up her second individual event win of the 2021-22 campaign. Smith's time of 1:00.68 also marked the fifth fastest time in program history.

Dynesty Ervin and Zoe Dellaserra both represented the Vikings in the 100 Meter Dash, Ervin placing 14th with a time of 12.55 and Dellaserra finishing 21st overall with a time of 12.93.

Dellaserra also competed in the Long Jump event on Friday, posting a mark of 4.32.

Cleveland State will close out action at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational tomorrow, set to participate in the 200 Meter Dash and 4x400 Meter Relay.
