CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Horizon League announced its 2021 Spring Academic Honor Roll Friday afternoon, with 128 Cleveland State University student-athletes earning a spot on the list.

The 128 selections for Cleveland State are its highest such figure in the past 16 semesters and the fifth-most in the HL. The Vikings were only two honorees from fourth-place Northern Kentucky and six honorees ahead of IUPUI.
Women's soccer led the way for the Green and White, placing 22 student-athletes on the Horizon League Honor Roll. Women's swimming and diving, men's swimming and diving, as well as cross country/track and field, each landed 13 student-athletes on the honor roll, while volleyball earned 11 spots.
Cleveland State's Horizon League Champion men's basketball program had seven members on the honor roll, the most of any HL men's basketball teams.
Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season; 2) completion of three semesters (or four quarters, where applicable) as a full-time student at the same member institution; 3) a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale).
In addition, a total of 49 student-athletes from Cleveland State's non-Horizon League sports met these criteria – 24 lacrosse players, 11 wrestlers, eight men's fencers and six women's fencers.
