YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team continued action at the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Championships Saturday, recording three podium finishes on the day.
Cleveland State's top finish came in the 100 Meter Dash, as Tylar Mixon placed third overall with a time of 12.10 to earn Honorable Mention All-Horizon League honors. Mixon's time of 12.10 marked a program record for the Vikings.
Kaelin Stahl posted Cleveland State's second individual podium finish of the day, placing sixth overall with a mark of 3.61 in the Pole Vault. In addition to earning a podium finish, Stahl also set a program record with her mark of 3.61.
Along with the two individual podium finishes on Saturday, the Vikings also placed fourth in the 4x100 Meter Relay, with the quartet of Mixon, Dynesty Ervin, Allison Pankow, and Zoe Dellaserra posting a time of 48.64.
The Vikings also qualified two runners to Sunday's finals, with Mixon advancing to the 200 Meter Dash finals and Anna Brandt earning a spot in the 800 Meter Run finals. Mixon qualified with a time of 25.22, while Brandt posted the fastest qualifying time in the 800, finishing in 2:14.93. Brandt's qualifying time marked a program record, topping her own previous best that she set earlier this season.
The final day of the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Championships will take place tomorrow (Sunday, May 9), with running events slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. Due to inclement weather forecasted for the area, Sunday's events will be contested indoors.
