Cleveland State Track & Field Sets Three Program Records At Mountaineer Twilight

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Cleveland State track and field team competed in its final tune-up before the Horizon League Outdoor Championships on Saturday, posting three program records at the Mountaineer Twilight.

Sprints
Cleveland State's top individual finish came in the 200 Meter Dash on Saturday, as Tylar Mixon finished second with a time of 25.66. Zoe Dellaserra also posted a top-10 finish in the 200, placing eighth with a time of 26.25.

Dynesty Ervin recorded one of three program records for the Vikings in the 400 Meter Dash, as she posted a time of 59.34 to finish seventh overall.

Distance/Mid-Distance
Anna Brandt recorded Cleveland State's best mid-distance finish on the day, posting a program record in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:13.87. Brandt knocked off more than one second from her previous program record that she set earlier this season at the Oakland Invitational. Margaret Smith finished right behind Brandt in the 800, posting a time of 2:20.25 to finish ninth overall.

Grace Holmes was the lone Viking in the 1500 Meter Run on Saturday, finishing with a time of 5:17.53.

Field
Cleveland State's third and final program record came in the Pole Vault, as Kaelin Stahl posted a mark of 3.24 to finish fourth in the event. Brooke Armbruster represented the Vikings in the Javelin, posting a mark of 14.96, while Kamryn Sharer posted a mark of 11.64 in the Shot Put.

Relays
After posting the third fastest time in program history, the Vikings were able to finish first in the 4x100 Meter Relay, as the quartet of Mixon, Ervin, Allison Pankow, and Dellaserra posted a time of 48.05. The Vikings also finished third in the 4x400 Meter Relay, with the quartet of Deja Emmanus, Savannah Shaver, Deanna Swinerton, and Holmes finishing with a time of 4:26.32.

Cleveland State will close out the outdoor season at the 2021 Horizon League Championships next weekend, with action taking place May 7-9 at Youngstown State.
