OXFORD, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team continued its 2021 outdoor schedule Saturday, competing at the RedHawk Invitational.
Competing in just eight events on Saturday, the Vikings posted five individual top-10 finishes and a pair of top-five relay finishes.
Sprints
The Vikings recorded four of their five individual top-10 performances in the sprint events on Saturday, led by Tylar Mixon with two. Mixon recorded a third place finish in the 200 Meter Dash (26.12), while also finishing seventh in the 100 Meter Dash (12.69).
Zoe Dellaserra also posted a top-10 finish in the 100, placing ninth with a time of 12.82, while Dynesty Ervin posted a CSU season-best time of 1:01.11 in the 400 Meter Dash to finish ninth overall.
Distance/Mid-Distance
Cleveland State's top distance finish came from Anna Brandt in the 3000 Meter Steeple, as she posted a time of 11:22.86 to finish eighth. This marked the first time that a Viking was running in this event this season, while Brandt's time is the second fastest time in the CSU Record Book.
The Vikings also had a contingent running in the 800 Meter Run, with Margaret Smith posting a time of 2:22.31 to lead Cleveland State.
Field
Kamryn Sharer was the lone Viking to compete in field events on Saturday, as she placed 12th in the Shot Put with a mark of 11.30.
Relays
Cleveland State posted a pair of top-five finishes in both relay events at the RedHawk Invitational, including a runner-up finish in the 4x400 with a time of 4:10.54. The Vikings also posted a fourth place finish in the 4x100 with a time of 49.66.

Cleveland State will compete in its final tune-up before the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Championships next weekend, taking part in the West Virginia Invitational on Saturday, May 1.
