ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Cleveland State track and field team continued its outdoor schedule Saturday, posting nine top-10 individual finishes at the Oakland Invitational.
Sprints
The Vikings finished with four top-10 finishes in sprint events on Saturday, paced by Tylar Mixon in the 200 Meter Dash who finished third overall with a time of 25.69. Mixon's third place finish marked the highest individual finish for the Vikings at the Oakland Invitational.
Zoe Dellaserra (26.32) and Dynesty Ervin (26.42) also posted top-10 finishes in the 200 Meter Dash, placing sixth and seventh, respectively.
The final top-10 sprint finish came in the 400 Meter Dash, as Margaret Smith posted a time of 1:01.86 to finish seventh overall.
Mid-Distance/Distance
Anna Brandt recorded a pair of top-10 finishes in the mid-distance and distance events on Saturday, placing fourth in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:14.98 and seventh in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:53.10.
Brandt's time of 2:14.98 in the 800 marked a program record over the last five seasons.
Field Events
Kamryn Sharer posted Cleveland State's top field event finish on Saturday, placing fifth in the Shot Put with a mark of 11.53 – which was a program record over the last five seasons.
Kaelin Stahl finished seventh in the Pole Vault (3.05), while Brooke Armbruster made her 2021 debut with a ninth place finish in the Javelin (14.67).
