Vikings Open Competition At Akron Invite & Oberlin Invite

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team continued its indoor slate Friday, competing at the Akron Invitational and the Oberlin College BSN Invitational.

At the Oberlin Invite, the Vikings had three competitors in the 800 Meter Run, led by Margaret Smith who finished second overall with a time of 2:26.53. Grace Holmes (2:42.35) and Kayla Zdanowicz (2:43.03) also represented Cleveland State in the event.

Kamryn Sharer was the fourth Viking to take part in the Oberlin Invite, as she placed third in the Shot Put, with a mark of 11.27, which ranks second in the CSU Record Book.

On day one of the Akron Invitational, Kaelin Stahl represented the Vikings in the Pole Vault, placing 12th overall with a personal-best mark of 3.38.

Action at the Akron Invitational will continue tomorrow (Saturday, February 8), with running events starting at 10:00 a.m. and field events beginning at 11:00 a.m.
