Vikings Have Strong Showing In Season Opener

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team opened up the 2019-20 campaign Friday, competing at the BG Opener.

The Vikings recorded a trio of second place finishes on the day, with Azsah Bradley finishing second in the 60 Meter Dash and Monica Johnson finishing second in the 60 Meter Hurdles and 200 Meter Dash. Bradley recorded a time of 7.77 in the 60 dash finals, while Johnson posted a time of 26.80 in the 200 dash and 8.88 in the 60 hurdles.

Freshman Dyamond Myers recorded a program record in her first collegiate meet, recorded a time of 42.60 in the 300 Meter Dash.

Alison Pankow was Cleveland State's top finisher in the 400 Meter Dash, crossing the finish line 1:05.20, while Olivia Hammons paced the Vikings in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:25.05.

Julianne Dorothal represented the Vikings in a pair of field events, recording a mark of 1.50 in the High Jump and a mark of 10.55 in the Shot Put.

The Vikings will now take a break from competition, returning to action at the Michigan Invitational on January 11, 2020.
