ASHLAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team participated in its final tune-up before the Horizon League Outdoor Championship Saturday, taking part in the Ashland Alumni Open.
Cleveland State's best finish came from Jessica Finley in the 5000 Meter Run, as she won the event in a time of 18:16.95. The Vikings also had another pair of top-15 finishes in the race, as Kylie Scott finished sixth in a time of 19:08.57 and Abbey Rojeck placed 13th in 19:58.40.
Anna Brandt recorded Cleveland State's only other top-five individual finish on the day, as she placed third in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase in a time of 12:16.10.
Rachel Wenzel posted Cleveland State's top field finish on the day, as she placed seventh in the High Jump with a mark of 1.52.
The Vikings finished third in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 48.19, while they finished second in the 4x400 Meter Relay after crossing the finish line in 4:16.12.
Next up for the Vikings will be the Horizon League Outdoor Championship, which is slated for Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6 at Oakland University.
