Vikings Begin Outdoor Season At Bob Kahn Invitational

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team returned to action for the first time during the outdoor season Saturday, with a handful of runners competing at the Bob Kahn Invitational at Oberlin College.

The Vikings had three runners in the 400 Meter Dash, led by Deanna Calder who finished third in a time of 1:04.96. Also competing were Deja Emmanus (6th – 1:07.94) and Andrea Wardeiner (7th – 1:08.94).

Cleveland State had two participants in the 800 Meter Run, with Samantha Butterbaugh finishing third in a time of 2:26.24 and Wardeiner placing 17th with a final time of 2:53.14.

The final event for the Vikings was the 400 Meter Hurdles, with Alexandrea Derkacs finishing third in a time of 1:07.24.

Cleveland State's full roster will return to action next weekend at the All-Ohio Championship on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15.
