Vikings Wrap Up Action At Horizon League Indoor Championship

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State track and field team wrapped up action at the 2017 Horizon League Indoor Championship Sunday, competing in the 3000 Meter Run and the 4x400 Relay.

The Vikings had two runners in the 3000 Meter Run, with Samantha Butterbaugh placing 10th with a time of 10:22.08 and Karen Barrientos finishing 13th in a time of 10:26.97 – with both marking lifetime bests in the event.

In the lone relay event of the day, Cleveland State finished with a time of 4:09.46. The quartet of Alexandria Derkacs, Bridget Smik, Danielle Yasenchack, and Olivia Hammons knocked off 10 seconds from their 4x400 relay time at the Kent State Tuneup last time out.

The Vikings will now take a break from competition until April when their outdoor season starts at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15.
