Sieradzki's Goal; Daniels Play in Net Help Vikings Tie Butler, 1-1, in Season Opener

Box Score

CLEVELAND, Ohio –The Cleveland State women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Butler in the 2015 season opener on Friday night at Krenzler Field.

The Bulldogs struck first just 11 minutes into the game when Halle Stelbasky scored to the far post from just inside the box. Randi Delong and Sophia Maccagnone assisted on the goal.

It would stay that way until the 52:52 mark when Allie Sieradzki scored to knot the game. Sieradzki stole a pass at the top of the box and beat the Butler goalkeeper 1-on-1 to even the contest.

Jamie Daniels made nine saves for the Vikings, entering the match in the ninth minute after starting goalkeeper Sarah Wood went down with an injury.

Madison Card made two saves for the Bulldogs.

The Vikings are back in action on Sunday (Aug. 23) when CSU hosts Chicago State at 1:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
