CLEVELAND, Ohio – Rob Edwards scored a career-high 21 points and tied the CSU single-game record by making all five of his three-pointers as the Vikings defeated Cedarville, 77-37, on Tuesday night in the Wolstein Center.

CSU improved to 5-8 with the win.

Edwards hit 8-of-10 from the field overall, including 5-of-5 from three-point, becoming just the second player in school history to be perfect from three-point with a minimum of five attempts. Charlie Woods also accomplished the feat, going 5-of-5 from long range, on Feb. 20, 2010, against Toledo.

Edwards also tied the CSU single-game freshman record with five three-pointers, becoming the 13th freshman to hit five three's in a game. In addition, he added a career-best nine rebounds.

Kenny Carpenter added 14 points and a career-high nine assists off the bench, while Daniel Levitt scored 11 points and grabbed a career-best seven rebounds. Jibri Blount finished with 10 points, five rebounds and three steals to help the CSU bench outscore Cedarville's bench, 37-9.

Demonte Flannigan tallied nine points and three blocks and Vinny Zollo chipped in eight points and six rebounds.

Easton Bazzolli led the Yellow Jackets with 11 points.

"We were able to use a lot of bodies today and run fresh legs at them," head coach Gary Waters said. "We didn't start the game with a lot of energy and I thought the guys off the bench came in and brought some life to us."

The Yellow Jackets hit five of their first six shots to open up a 13-3 lead, but CSU came right back, using a 21-6 run over the next nine minutes to open up a 24-19 lead with eight minutes to play. A free throw and three-pointer by Patrick Bain brought the Yellow Jackets back within one (24-23), but the Vikings closed the half on a 19-3 run to take a 43-26 lead into the locker room.

A Cedarville layup opened the second half scoring, but six straight points from Flannigan were followed by five straight from Edwards as CSU went on to out-score Cedarville, 34-11, in the second half.

The Vikings finished with a 42-33 advantage in rebounds and made 10 steals. CSU hit 12-of-30 (.400) from three-point, tied for the third most made three-pointers in a game in school history.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday (Jan. 2) when CSU opens Horizon League play with a 3:00 pm contest at Oakland.
