CSU Drops Regular Season Finale at Oakland, 2-1

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - The Cleveland State women's soccer team dropped its regular season finale, 2-1, at Oakland on Saturday night in Horizon League action.

The Vikings finish the regular season with an 8-8-2 overall record and a 3-4-1 mark in the Horizon League for 10 points. CSU will now wait and see if it is one of six league teams that qualify for the league tournament after the regular season concludes with four matches next Saturday.

Oakland improved to 5-10-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the league.

Oakland took an early 1-0 lead on a penalty kick, but the Vikings would tie the contest in the 36th minute on Kaila Sargema's fourth goal of the season off a corner kick from Katie Bainbridge.

It stayed that way until two minutes into the second half when Oakland would tally the game-winning goal.

The Vikings had a pair of shots hit the crossbar in each half with Allie Sieradzki's shot in the 16th minute hitting the crossbar and a shot from Katie Bainbridge in the 48th minute also hitting the crossbar.
