YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - With an offensive rebound at the 4:45 mark of the second half, Shalonda Winton became the all-time career rebound leader at Cleveland State, finishing the contest with nine and 1,033 on her career. Winton also notched a team-high 20 points, along with two other Vikings scoring in double-digits, but that wasn't enough as CSU fell at Youngstown State, 73-69 Thursday evening. The Vikings now stand at 12-14 this season and 4-9 in Horizon League play, while YSU improves to 18-6 (8-3).

Joining Winton with double-digits against YSU was Kiersten Green (13 points) and Cori Coleman (12 points). Imani Gordon chipped in nine points and seven rebounds, while Haley Schmitt added eight points and four boards.

During the opening half the lead changed five times and the score was tied seven times, until CSU was able to go into halftime with a five-point advantage (33-28). After giving up their third lead of the game with 4:00 on the clock, the Vikings regained the lead at the 3:38 mark on a Coleman three-pointer and closed the frame on a 9-3 run.

Over the first eight minutes of the second half, YSU outscored Cleveland State 24-17, gaining their first lead since the 4:00 mark of the first frame on three-straight three-pointers (52-50). Winton was able to tie the game for the seventh time on the next possession, converting a pair of free throws, but the Penguins responded with a 6-2 run to regain a lead (58-54) they hold for the rest of the game.

CSU was able to bring the contest within two-points multiple times throughout the final 9:18, including with just 1:40 left on the clock following a pair of converted free throws from Green (69-67). Youngstown State then closed the contest on a 4-2 run, earning all four points from the free throw line, to come away with the four-point victory, 73-69.

For the second straight game Cleveland State was able to outrebound its opponent, grabbing 41 against YSU's 31. The Vikings shot 45.5-percent from the floor (25-55), including a .565 clip (13-23) during the first half.

Cleveland State will now return home for the final two regular season contests at the Wolstein Center, beginning with a 7:00 p.m. contest against Loyola on Monday (Feb. 25).
