Vikings Drop 7-0 Match at Third Ranked Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Playing their first match after a 12 day layoff, the Cleveland State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match at third-ranked Ohio State on Thursday afternoon.

The loss drops the Vikings to 4-4 this spring.

"Even though we were not able to score any points today, this was a big step for our program to be able to compete against a team like Ohio State," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "They are the number three ranked team in the country for a reason, but I am proud of how our guys battled and never gave up.

"I saw the potential for what we can accomplish the rest of this year, and I am really excited to get into our conference schedule and see what we can do."

CSU is back in action on Friday (Feb. 25) when the Vikings travel to Duquesne for a 6:00 p.m. match.
