EAST LANSING, Mich. - Senior Rob Fox won both his singles and doubles matches this morning, but Cleveland State dropped a 6-1 decision at Michigan State in nonconference action on Saturday.

The loss drops the Vikings to 0-2 this spring.

"I thought our doubles was better today than yesterday, but we still need to get everyone playing at a high level at the same time," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "I thought we were close to getting that point and I always say that is an important point because it could shift momentum of the match.

"The team is still trying to find its identity and I think over the next two weeks, we will find out who we are. We found out that we have some things to work on from these first two matches and we are going to work hard to improve and get better."

Fox and Haley earned an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while Yannick Goossens and Matt Kuelker nearly pulled out a win at No. 2, falling, 8-6.

Fox then came out and picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win over Austin Brooks at No. 3 singles to earn the lone point of the day for CSU.

"Rob was very sharp today with his shots and was really hitting through his shots well," Etzkin said. "He is a senior captain and is a leader on this team and this is what we need him to keep doing. I thought he had a great all-around day today.

The Vikings will be back in action on Saturday (Jan. 29) when CSU hosts IPFW at 6:00 p.m. at Paramount Tennis Club. It will be CSU's home opener.
