MUNCIE, Ind. - Cleveland State men's tennis team took home championships in two doubles tournaments on Sunday (Sept. 26), concluding the squad's play in the Ball State Invitational.
The tandem of Rob Fox and John Haley defeated Dalton Albertin and Zane Smith of Ball State, 8-4, to win the Doubles Flight A bracket. CSU's Matt Ford and Chris Klepatz defeated Brandon Bayliss and Zach Ervin of Butler, 9-8 with a tiebreak score of 8-6, to win the Doubles Flight B Consolation bracket.
"The guys weren't happy with yesterday's results," head coach Brian Etzkin said. All of CSU's singles players were eliminated by the end of the invitational's second day.
"They talked as a team last night and came out with focus and intensity today," Etzkin said. "We had two good wins against two solid teams today."
The men's team will travel to Tulsa, Okla. next week (Oct. 2-5) to compete in the All American Invitational.
