GREEN BAY, Wis. - Cleveland State hit .286 as a team and Beth Greulich tallied 13 kills to lead the Vikings to a 3-0 sweep over Green Bay in Horizon League volleyball action on Saturday night at the Kress Center.

Match scores were 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.

The victory snapped a two-match losing streak for CSU and improved the Vikings to 7-18 overall and 6-9 in league play. Green Bay slipped to 8-16 overall and 4-10 in the conference.

Amy Benz, Jenni Ramminger and Kayla Lefeld aided Greulich with eight kills each, while Liz Fazio had seven. Jordan Goad finished with 39 assists and seven digs, while Jordan Bateman made 16 digs.

CSU scored the first three points of the match and would never trail in the first set. Green Bay was able to come back and slice the lead to one at 21-20, but a Ramminger kill and a Phoenix attack error extended the lead back to three and gave CSU the first set.

The second set had 10 tie scores and six lead changes and was close throughout. A 5-1 run helped the Vikings turn a one-point advantage (15-14) into a 20-16 lead, but the Phoenix came right back, pulling to within 23-22. However, the Vikings went right to Greulich and the junior responded with back-to-back kills to give CSU a 2-0 lead.

The Vikings used a quick spurt in the third set to turn a 10-10 tie into a 21-15 lead and the Phoenix could not close the gap as the Vikings earned their fourth sweep of the season.

Nikki Hintze led Green Bay with 11 kills, while Holly Visser had a double-double effort of 10 kills and 10 digs.

The Vikings will conclude the regular season on Friday when CSU travels to Youngstown State for a 7:00 p.m. match.
