MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
This was the third meeting between CSU and Oakland with the Vikings winning the previous two contests.
Sophomore D'Aundray Brown scored the first basket of the year for CSU on a three-pointer with 18:44 left. It was his first career trey after going 0-for-8 from three-point in 2007-08.
Oakland stormed out to a 19-7 lead with 13:14 left in the first half but CSU answered with a 9-0 run to close to 20-18 with 8:35 left. Oakland countered with a 9-1 burst to extend the lead back to double digits (29-19).
CSU took its first lead (55-53) on a Norris Cole basket with 3:11 left.
J'Nathan Bullock, who last year was 13-13 from the line in the opener at USF, missed his fourth attempt of the game, making him 18-for-19 in season openers during his career.
Both teams made five turnovers in the first half,but CSU defensive pressure forced 8 second half steals as Oakland committed 14 second half turnovers (CSU had 7 for 12 turnovers in the game).
Oakland had a 47-43 edge on the boards, including 15 offensive rebounds.
