Postgame Quotes
Cleveland State vs. Wright State
Jan 18, 2007
Cleveland State Head Coach Gary Waters: "Wright State really shot the ball well tonight. I can't make any excuses for that. They just hit shots. We fought hard. We put a group of guys out there that we thought could make it happen."
On The Parity Around The Horizon League: "This league is very close. I'm surprised that you can play as poorly as we did on defense and still have a chance to win the game. Every game comes down to the last six or seven minutes of the game. Every game we've played have come down to the final minutes."
On The Parity Around The Horizon League: "The point guards are the controllers of the league right now. If you execute, you have a chance to win in this league. And that gives me hope for the future. Right now they're doing that and that's why they are winning games."
On Not Having Enough To Sustain The Big Run: "We laid it all out on the line in the first five minutes. I give our kids credit for that. But when you're undermanned like we are, it is tough to sustain it. Tonight we really missed Carlos (English) and Kevin (Francis). Not having them hurt us."
Cleveland State Forward J'Nathan Bullock On The Close Loss: "It's frustrating because we had them on the ropes. But we didn't knock them out. We just shot ourselves in the foot defensively. Our makeup is on defense, and we lost sight of that tonight."
Wright State Head Coach Brad Brownell: "We're excited to get this road win. We played well in the first half. Defensively, we weren't very good in the second. They played with a lot of confidence and made plays. I was pleased that our kids found a way to win."
On Wright State Being At The Top Of The Standings: "We aren't clearly a top of the league team. Our schedule has helped us. We've played four of our six league games at home. I'm not really concerned with the standings right now. We have a long way to go before we worry about that."
On Wright State Having DaShaun Wood: "We have a good player in DaShaun Wood. He's not afraid to make plays, so obviously that helps our team."
