Final Stats

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Cleveland State found out the hard way why league leading UW-Green Bay is receiving votes in both national polls, as the Phoenix handed the Vikings an 82-39 loss on Thursday night in front of 1,585 fans in the Phoenix Sports Center.

The defeat drops CSU to 5-14 overall and 2-4 in the Horizon League while UWGB improves to 14-3, 5-0 with their 11th straight win and 19th victory in 20 tries over the Vikings on its home court.

Jessica Roque knocked down four three-pointers to lead CSU with a game-high 13 points, while Chenara Wilson added 11 points and three rebounds.

Nicole Soulis, Rachel Porath and Erin Templin each had 12 points to pace UWGB.

The Phoenix claimed control in the first half, limiting CSU to just three field goals on 21 attempts (14.3 percent). The Vikings went 10:20 without a basket, while UWGB closed the final 2:38 of the stanza with a 15-2 burst to go into the locker room up 44-15.

The story was much the same in the final 20 minutes as the Phoenix opened up a 43-point advantage (68-35) with 7:41 remaining.

UW-Green Bay shot 59.3 percent for the game (32-54) - including a 10-for-17 effort from behind the arc (58.8 percent), while limiting the Vikings to a 25.5 percent effort (12-47). The Phoenix also turned 23 CSU turnovers into 23 points in addition to tallying 40 points in the paint.

Cleveland State wraps up its two-game swing through Wisconsin on Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. CST tip at UW-Milwaukee.
