Final Stats

TOLEDO, Ohio - Cleveland State closed out its season-opening 11-match road swing with a convincing 30-20, 30-26, 30-25 win at Toledo on Friday evening. The Vikings won for the seventh straight time to improve to 9-2 on the year, while the Rockets fall to 3-9.

"We got it done again tonight with solid ball control and good execution offensively," CSU head coach Chuck Voss said. "For us to go 9-2 without playing a match at home yet is a great achievement and we can't wait to play in front of our home crowd tomorrow night."

CSU trailed only twice in the match -- at 2-1 in game one and 22-21 in the second frame -- en route to its seventh sweep of the season. The Vikings held a sizeable advantage in hitting percentage (.233 to .121) while out-blocking Toledo 10-6.

Liz Fazio led CSU with 16 kills and eight digs, while Jenni Ramminger tallied 12 kills on .611 hitting. Beth Greulich posted nine kills and four blocks and Mel Snyder added 41 assists.

Kate Bean paced the Rockets with 16 kills, while TaNeisha Winters registered 11 kills and eight digs.

Cleveland State opens its home schedule on Saturday as the Vikings host Robert Morris at 7:00 p.m. in Woodling Gymnasium. Call (216) 687-4848 for ticket information.
