Final Stats
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -
Bowling Green proved to be too much for Cleveland State to handle on Tuesday night, defeating the Vikings 30-22, 30-21, 28-30, 30-17 in Anderson Arena. The win was the 14th in the last 16 meetings for the Falcons.
"Bowling Green has one of the better offenses we'll face all season," CSU head coach Chuck Voss said. "They punished the ball all night long and played very good defense as well. However, I look for us to be much improved when we face them again in two weeks."
The Falcons held sizeable advantages in hitting percentage (.278 to .090), kills (73 to 49) and digs (72 to 54) to even their record at 1-1 on the year. The loss drops the Vikings to 2-2.
Danielle Siefker led CSU with 14 kills and three blocks, while Liz Fazio and Alexis Korovich both added 11 kills and seven digs.
BGSU's Corey Domek led all players with 22 kills.
Cleveland State is in action again when the Vikings travel south for the UNC Asheville Invitational on Sept. 1-2. CSU will square off against the host Bulldogs on Friday, followed by matches with East Tennessee State and UNC Greensboro the next day.
