Final Stats
FAIRBORN, Ohio -
Wright State became just the second team to sweep Cleveland State this season, defeating the Vikings, 30-26, 30-26, 31-29, on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, CSU falls to 13-5 overall and 3-3 in the Horizon League, while the Raiders improve to 10-10, 4-1.
The Vikings had five more kills than WSU, but the Raiders held large advantages in both hitting percentage (.207 to .134) and blocks (11 to 3) as they ended a five-match regular season losing streak against CSU.
"Wright State had very good ball control and played excellent defense today," CSU head coach Chuck Voss said. "We had our opportunities each game, but didn't make plays when we needed to."
Freshman Liz Fazio led the Vikings with 14 kills and 11 digs for her fifth-double-double, while senior Danielle Siefker tallied 11 kills and a pair of blocks. Freshman Alexis Korovich added 10 kills and 12 digs for her team-leading eighth double-double.
Wright State's Jenny Schultz notched a double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs while Lindsey Frank added 36 assists and 16 digs.
Cleveland State plays just one match next week traveling to Youngstown State on Oct. 13 for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
