BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Bowling Green scored the first of its six goals just 3:17 into the contest and the Vikings could not recover, falling 6-0 to the Falcons on Friday at BG's Cochrane Field.

"We played hard for 90 minutes, but they were just a better team today," head coach Derrek Falor said. "Bowling Green is an NCAA Tournament caliber team and they showed it today. We just didn't have the horses.

"We will not find much success unless we stop allowing teams to score on us early in the match. It is hard for this team to play from behind, especially when you aren't the better team," Falor added.

Bowling Green's Britt Anderson opened the scoring when she blasted home a free kick from 25 yards out in the fourth minute.

The Falcons added a pair of near-identical goals in a 2:10 span midway through the first half. Corbie Yee tallied the first at the 26:12 mark when she beat Viking goalkeeper Erin Withrow to a loose ball in the box and launched a short shot past Withrow.

Moments later, Withrow couldn't track down a Samantha Meister cross that Bowling Green's Lindsay Carter gathered in and scored on.

Kristin McDonald scored at the 36:41 mark to push the lead to 4-0 at the intermission.

The early moments of the second half was more of the same. Anderson tallied her second marker of the contest just 29 seconds into the second stanza and Meister would close out the scoring with a goal in the 60th minute.

Cleveland State, which drops to 0-6 on the season, returns home to host Toledo on Sunday, Sept. 18 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Krenzler Field. It will be the Vikings fifth and final match against a Mid-American Conference opponent this season.
