Recap |  Final Stats |  Notes

Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland: "We did a lot of things right tonight. If you were to tell me that we would hold their top three shooters in check and lose the game, I just wouldn't believe you. We did some nice things to execute our offense and get the ball into the paint, and when we do that we are tough. But many of our three-point shots were not good shots. They were contested shots and they shouldn't have been that way."

"I thought that, particularly in the last eight minutes, that our offense really cost us. We turned the ball over, got in a rush, kind of panicked with the ball and got away from what we were doing to stay in the game and control the game."

Cleveland State forward Patrick Tatham: "We wanted to shut Schilb down and let the other guys try and beat us, but we probably gave the other guys too many points."

"I guess you could say that we are a little mad at ourselves. We just didn't execute down the stretch and do what we wanted to do."

Loyola Head Coach Jim Whitesell: "I'm proud of our guys. We beat a very good team tonight. Cleveland State is a team that I have a lot of respect for and I think the good thing for us was every time they made a run we answered back. It looks like a game we easily won but we know that wasn't the case. Our guys hung in there defensively and did a nice job of executing our offense."
