Director of Athletics Kelsie Gory Harkey announced today the hiring of Kendra Greene as the newest member of the Cleveland State Athletics’ senior leadership team. Greene will serve as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Experience. Greene brings over 20 years of collegiate athletics experience, including the last decade as a senior administrator at the Division I level, to her new role in Cleveland.

“I’m very excited to welcome Kendra Greene to Cleveland State,” Gory Harkey said. “Kendra shares our vision for creating a transformational student-athlete experience and her background in athletics administration will be a great addition to our leadership team. I look forward to the impact she will have on our student-athletes, coaches and staff as she begins her new role.”

Greene comes to Cleveland State after seven successful years at North Carolina Central University. She began her time at NCCU as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations/SWA and was elevated to Deputy Athletic Director/SWA in 2022. She served as a member of the executive leadership team as well as serving as the department’s chief compliance officer, while overseeing the internal units of Student-Athlete Services, Budget and Finance, Travel, and Title IX compliance. Greene also served as the interim head coach for men’s and women’s golf programs for four seasons.

Prior to her time at North Carolina Central, Greene spent time at Florida A&M, Alabama State and Delaware State in administrative roles. She served as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance as well as the department’s SWA. Greene was a member of the senior leadership team at Florida A&M and served as the sport supervisor for women’s basketball and football. Greene served as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations at Alabama State as well as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at Delaware State.

Greene holds three degrees, most recently earning a Doctorate of Education in Sports Leadership from Concordia University of Chicago in 2022. Greene is a Michigan native and earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in sociology in 2004. She went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 where she served as a graduate assistant and a facility manager for OU’s Lloyd Noble Center. Greene also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Brain Injury: Education and Transition Services from George Washington University. Her career also includes stops at the University of Maryland and the University of the District of Columbia.
