A.J. Montanaro, who has been part of the Cleveland State men’s basketball program since 2012, is in his second season as the Director of Basketball Operations.
A 2014 graduate of Cleveland State with a Bachelor’s of Education, Montanaro was the head manager at CSU from 2012-14 and served as the video coordinator of the men’s basketball program last season.
During his time at CSU, the Vikings advanced to the postseason two times, including the second round of the CollegeBasketballInsider.com tournament in 2015.
As video coordinator last season, Montanaro worked directly with the coaching staff by planning, overseeing and coordinating the filming of all practices and games, including video and paper scouts.
Prior to arriving at CSU, Montanaro spent two years (2010-12) as a student manager with the West Virginia men’s basketball program.
Montanaro is currently pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration at Cleveland State.
A graduate of Eastlake North H.S. where he was the captain of the basketball team, Montanaro was a member of the National Honor Society.
