Viking of the Week Nominees
Annabelle Crissman, Cross Country
Paced the Vikings with an 11th place finish at the Mike Baumer Invite, posting a career-best time of 18:42, which also marked the 19th fastest time in program history.
Aleksandar Kolar, Men's Soccer
Didn't allow a goal in his play on the week, picking up his first collegiate win and making seven saves in a 0-0 draw against No. 19 FAU.
Bryn VanVleet, Volleyball
Averaged 3.17 kills per set at the Mercyhurst Invitational, notching double-digit kills in all three matches on the weekend.
 
 
Men's Soccer
-Cleveland State will begin its #HLMSOC title defense with a pair of league games this week, starting at Oakland on Wednesday and hosting Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
-The Vikings are coming off a 1-0-1 week, including a 3-1 win at Canisius and a 0-0 draw against No. 19 FAU.
-Aleksandar Kolar didn't allow a goal in his run of play, picking up his first collegiate win in goal and making eight total saves.
Women's Soccer
-The Vikings wrap up non-league play on Thursday, hosting Southern Indiana.
-Thursday will mark Senior Night, with the Vikings honoring their seven senior players and one team manager prior to the game.
Volleyball
-The Vikings will host its annual CSU Invitational presented by Comfort Inn Cleveland Downtown this week, playing three matches over three days.
-CSU will open the tournament by traveling to Akron on Thursday, before hosting Valparaiso on Friday and Coppin State on Saturday.
-Through two weeks of the 2026 season, Bryn VanVleet is averaging a team-best 3.52 kills per set, while Fiona Cooper is averaging 7.67 assists per set and Vayda Delventhal is averaging 3.57 digs per set.
Cross Country
-Cleveland State will take a week off before competing at the All-Ohio Classic hosted by Cedarville on Friday, September 18.
-The Vikings opened the season with a sixth-place finish at the Mike Baumer Invitational.
-Annabelle Crissman paced the team with an 11th place individual finish after crossing in a career-best time of 18:42.
Swim & Dive
-Cleveland State will open the season for a second straight year at the IU Indy Tri-Meet along with Youngstown State on Friday and Saturday.
-Ellie Seiter returns for diving and will look to continue her momentum after winning the 1-meter championship a season ago.
